Biddeston property Foxdale on the market

Claire and Stephen Schmidt’s 161 hectare (400 acre) Biddeston property Foxdale is on the market for $2.1 million.

Located 23km west of Toowoomba, Foxdale is about half cultivation and half pasture, with a creek dissecting the productive property.

The pasture country is lightly timbered with coolibah and box with the occasional ironbark, running up into a ridge.

The deep black soil along the frontage to the creek originally produced small crops while the current owners have grown forage crops.

There is a 125 megalitre water licence attached to the holding, which has been used to irrigate small crops.

Water is supplied to livestock by two bores: one equipped with a windmill with the other equipped with a newly installed solar pumping system.

The fencing is descried as being in excellent condition.

Stock handing facilities include the steel and timber cattle yards with a drafting pound, crush, head bail and loading ramp. Road trains can access the property.

Structural improvements include a well maintained three bedroom home, a two bay garage, enclosed machinery shed, old hay shed, workshop, and a 50 tonne silo.

The property is being sold by Claire and Stephen Schmidt, who are concentrating on building a new 16,000 head sheep feedlot at Allora.

Foxdale is very well serviced with frontage to the Toowoomba – Cecil Plains Road, 8km from Wellcamp Airport and 1km from Biddeston Primary School and Biddeston Store.

Marketing agent Andrew Adcock said Foxdale was a versatile grazing and farming property, offering the opportunity for a rural lifestyle with income.

“Background or fatten and deliver direct to the abattoirs or feedlots close by, or just enjoy the ambience of country life in this secluded location,” Mr Adcock said.

Foxdale has been listed for private sale at $2.1 million.
